International PhD Course "Research Methods for the Advancement of Socio-Technical Systems"


From March, 8th- 12th, 2012 the 3rd iCom PhD course was held at the Campus Lounge at the Postgraduate Center in Vienna. Prof. Dr. Jürgen Kriz, emeritus at the institute of psychology at the University Osnabrück, facilitated the course as visiting professor.

The course offer was designed for doctorate candidates in the field of Informatics and Business Informatics, but also available for international students and students from other disciplines. Regarding content, the course focused on the adequate use of research strategies for practical and interdisciplinary dissertations.

The international and interdisciplinary diversity of the participants and the fruitful inputs of the professors from Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic brought up various new perspectives for the planning of research projects.
